Dr. Dave Conrad
Dave Conrad is a 1976 graduate of Purdue's School of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced at Decatur Veterinary Hospital since 1989. Areas of interest are small animal medicine and surgery as well as food animal medicine and surgery. He and his wife Teri are owned by two cats; Wally and Blackey. Dave and Teri are the grandparents of 7.
Dr. Cody Anspach
Cody Anspach is a 2016 graduate of Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Anspach Grew up on a small farm in north central Indiana. Cody currently lives in Berne with his wife Kala and their two dogs, Dani the Great Dane and Hank the chocolate lab. In Cody's spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, and going to livestock shows. In his last year at Purdue, Dr. Anspach received the Proficiency in Theriogenology award and the Excellence in Bovine Medicine and Surgery Award. Dr. Anspach's special interests include cattle reproduction, production records analysis, and small animal endocrinology.
Dr. John Huseman
Dr. John Huseman grew up on a small dairy farm in northwest Indiana. He graduated from Purdue in 1977 with a B.S. in agriculture and a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation he moved to Bluffton with his wife and daughter to work for the Bluffton Animal Clinic, LLC where he worked primarily with cattle and swine. Over time he has transitioned his energy to where today he works primarily on small animal general medicine and surgery. His special interests include surgery, dermatology and pet obesity. Dr. Huseman is a member of the IVMA, AVMA and is currently president of the Purdue Extension advisory board.
Dr. Huseman has three married children and six grandchildren. In addition to his family he enjoys bicycling, fishing, Purdue sports, bridge and reading. Dr. Huseman has two dogs, Boston terriers Buster and Bella.
Rebecca Bailey, RVT
Becca joined Decatur Veterinary Hospital as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2007. She is a 2006 graduate from Purdue University's Veterinary Technology Program. Becca has 1 dog, a sweet lab mix named Milton. Becca and her husband Brad live in Berne and have 3 children, Owen, Adelyn, and Vivian. She enjoys biking, interior decorating, and most of all spending time with her family.
Kendra Yoquelet, RVT
Kendra graduated from International Business College in 2010 with an associates degree in veterinary technology. She started working at Decatur Veterinary Hospital right after graduation in December of 2010. Kendra was born and raised in Bluffton, Indiana. She currently live just outside of Uniondale, Indiana with her husband, Corey and the newest addition to their family, their daughter Natalie. They also have their first "fur baby", Stewart. Stewart is a 9 year spoiled Maltese, who now realizes he is not the center of attention. In addition to Stewart they have a cat, Melvin, and some chickens. They enjoy gardening, camping, fishing and spending time with friends and family.
Anna Franke, RVT
Anna graduated from International Business College in December of 2015. She had previously worked for us as a kennel assistant through high school and college. After working in the Indianapolis area for a year and a half, she re-joined our team as a registered veterinary technician in April 2017. Anna currently lives in the Monroeville area with her fiance, Fletcher, their dog, Phoebe, and their cat, Hercules. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, camping, and going to the lake.
Keith Brunstrupp joined our team in 1998 as a kennel worker, and is our longest-serving employee at this time. Through the years, Keith's position has transitioned from kennel worker, to veterinary assistant, to our full-time receptionist and client advocate, the position he currently holds. When calling the office, it is his calming voice you'll hear on the other end of the phone. Keith is a graduate of Purdue University where he received his B.S. in Biology, A.S. in Chemistry, and minored in Business. Keith resides in rural Monroe with his wife, Krista; daughter, Lillian; cat, Tipper; and dog, Pepsi. Keith spends his days off from the office working at CVS Health in Berne, IN. Keith loves spending time with his family, being outdoors, reading, and being one of the leaders of the Adams County 4-H Dog Club.
Candy was hired at Decatur Veterinary Hospital as a receptionist in 1998. It was always a dream of hers to work at a veterinary hospital because of her love for animals. Candy enjoys working with everyone and enjoys all of our clients and their furry friends.
Candy married the greatest guy ever, Doug Singleton, in 1996. They do not have any children, but they have a crazy cat named Stoney who gives them much joy. Candy's other pleasures include real estate, antiquing, and, of course, enjoying time with friends and family. Candy recently purchased a cottage and is learning how to relax and enjoy life.
Jenna Strickler started working at the clinic in July 2016 as a receptionist. She resides in Berne, IN with her husband, Jason; her daughter, Dixie; and her son, James. Her fur-family includes two cats, Bandette and Isabel, and a horse named K-Bar. She spends her free time trail riding, reading, or spending time with friends and family.
You can find Meredith Werling all around the clinic—she floats between front desk reception and as an animal caretaker. Most of DVH’s farming clients refer to her as “That Werling Girl,” but she also responds to “Blonde Gal” and “The Young One” regularly.
Mere is a current student at IPFW University and is a graduate of Bellmont High School. She is studying Pre-Vet sciences in hopes of transferring into Purdue's School of Veterinary Medicine in the future. She is interested in small animal surgery and trauma, but is open-minded about all aspects of the veterinary field. At IPFW, she is currently the Secretary of the Pre-Vet Club, is a research assistant in the Biology Department, and is an Honors student.
Meredith spends the majority of her time on campus or in the office of DVH, but thoroughly enjoys being at home with her two dogs--Moose and Comet. She resides in Decatur with her family--where she fortunately does not have to pay rent. Her parents are the main reason for her success, and she is very grateful for them.
In her spare time, she enjoys sleeping until noon and being lazy, but when awake, she enjoys being active outside and watching & playing sports. She also considers eating an avid hobby. Meredith's role model is Dr. Cody Anspach, and she wishes to be just like him one day.
Rachel became a member of DVH in July 2016 as a Veterinary Assistant. Rachel graduated from International Business College in 2012 with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. Rachel grew up in Decatur, Indiana having animals her whole life. Outside of work Rachel takes care of her step daughter, Kylie, and will be getting married to Greg in September of 2017. She has a four legged child that’s part of the family named Willy, a Chihuahua/Toy Fox Terrier Mix. She has a big heart for Chihuahua’s. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the lakes, and reading while not at work.
Lauryn was hired in July, 2016 as an animal caretaker. Lauryn is a senior at Adams Central High School and is wanting to go to college to become a veterinary technician. She has 3 horses, Gypsy, Jaycee, and Taffy. She also has 2 dogs, a golden doodle named Cash, and a bulldog named Oscar. When she is not working, she likes to ride her horses and spend time with family.
Olivia Obringer is an animal caretaker here at Decatur Veterinary Hospital. She is a Senior at Indiana Connections Academy, and plans on attending the University of Saint Francis in the fall of 2017, majoring in pre-veterinary medicine. She's an avid reader, procrastinator, and advocate for the reputable breeding of dogs, especially Great Danes. She lives in Decatur, IN, with her 2 chickens, 2 rabbits, 3 cats, and one couch potato Merle Great Dane.
Jordan Hoffman is one of our three kennel workers since June of 2016. She is 17 years old and is currently a senior at Bellmont High School. Jordan enjoys spending time on her family farm, working with animals, playing basketball, and hanging out with her friends. Her two best furry friends are her German Shepherd puppy named Bella and her horse, Fancy. She loves spending time with animals and looks forward to going to college with a potential career in Animal Sciences.
